Preview of Kelowna’s Open and Women’s teams:
BUSHFIRE: Kelowna’s Women’s team has been preparing for this event since April. Led by World Class Kyla Jackson, BushFire has competed at three tournaments this year: Flowerbowl, Kelowna Kaos, and Regionals. The women of BushFire are committed to growing the sport and developing female athletes here in Kelowna. To this end, they have added several new players (players who have never attended a Canadian Nationals tournament) to their roster. These girls are known for their never-say-die attitude, dirty cheers, and outrageous laughs. Good luck this weekend, BushFire!
SOFA KINGS: Kelowna’s Open team has been training hard for Nationals this year. Under the coaching command of Andy Collins and the leadership of Tez Lamovhee, the team has competed at Flowerbowl, Kelowna Kaos, and Regionals this year. This team has also focused on player and team development and are looking sharp after placing 3rdat Regionals and earning a bid to compete at Nationals. Look for the up-and-coming talents of sky-high Dave Neilson combined with the veteran experience of Bruce ‘the bear’ Plaxton and sneaky Paul Emgbrets in the upcoming big plays in the Open division at CUC2012.
JUNIORS: KUPS is extremely proud of our three junior all-stars: Anthony Stelzer, Logan Peachey, and Ethan Christensen, who will be playing with the Valley Boys in the Junior Open division at Nationals. Way to represent, boys!
